Decolonization

Pacoima's Art Revolution
Painted by Levi Ponce to declare an arts revolution in the area (during a time where painting murals was illegal in Los Angeles), it stands as a symbol of the fight for the arts. 22' x 30' using acrylics, painted free for the community. Van Nuys Blvd and Tamarack.
La Bamba
Measuring 50' by 18' using acrylics. Hector Ponce depics Pacoima history and culture on the side of this 98 cent store. Painted free for the community.
Without Boundaries
Painted by Sarah Ackerley and Levi Ponce. This 33' x 75' mural inspires children's imagination by blurring the boundaries of reality. This variety of flying fish can actually be found off the coast of Santa Monica, CA. Painted free for the community. Van Nuys Blvd and Oneida Avenue.
El Nido
Painted with volunteers ranging from kids to adults, Manny Velazquez showcases some of El Nido Family Center's values and activities in this recent addition to Mural Mile. Van Nuys Blvd & Glenoaks Blvd.
Shakur
Painted by Kristy Sandoval and the H.O.O.D. Sisters, this mural pays homage to Assata Shakur, Tupac's godmother and once one of the FBI's most wanted. Painted free for the community. Van Nuys Blvd & Pala Avenue.
Entrepeneur Center
Painted by Germs, this 30-foot piece displays vibrant colors and allusions to Mexican icons and heritage. It can be found behind the Pacoima Entrepreneurial Center. Van Nuys Blvd & Telfair.
Dreams
Painted by Sarah Ackerley and Levi Ponce using acrylics, 34' x 24'. Depicts a local girl reading a book in a world inspired by learning. The mural is intended to promote the school's learning model of S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art Math). Van Nuys Blvd & Herrick.
Danny Trejo
Painted by Levi Ponce and volunteers using acrylics, 22' x 26'. Homage to actor Danny Trejo (Machete 2010) who can be seen with the local Pacoima community. Danny gives to this community and believes that helping others is a means to success. Painted for free for the community. Van Nuys Blvd & Tamarack.
Pacoima City Hall
This wonderful piece showcases the prominent faces and historical events of Pacoima. Painted by veteran illustrator Ignacio Gomez, it can be found within the walls of City Hall. Van Nuys Blvd & Oneida Ave.
